CBSNews.com Partners With Answers.com to Enhance News With Instant Access to Reference Information

The New Feature, Called "AnswerTips," Now Available on CBSNews.com

NEW YORK, October 23, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- CBSNews.com and Answers Corporation (NASDAQ: ANSW), the creators of Answers.com(TM), announced today the launch of AnswerTips, a new search mechanism that will enhance and enrich the CBSNews.com user experience. This new and easy-to-use feature is a reference tool for users to obtain additional information on select CBSNews.com content. In addition, CBSNews.com will provide headlines as well as breaking and current news stories to the Answers.com website.

This is the first-ever web-based implementation of AnswerTips, which is typically available only through Answers.com's downloadable software, 1-Click Answers(TM). It will be one of many tools on CBSNews.com that allow users to dig deeper, learning more about subjects and topics in the news. AnswerTips joins other CBSNews.com features, including CBS News FYI, a daily fact-sheet that provides background and history for stories covered on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC. Combined with content rich CBSNews.com interactives, CBS News FYI and AnswerTips are a direct response to viewers' desire for more context and background information on CBS EVENING NEWS stories.

This interactive tool is accessed on CBSNews.com by simply pressing and holding the ALT key while clicking on any word or phrase of interest. A co-branded AnswerTips information window will open instantly, providing definitions, biographies, historical background, maps and countless other relevant information on nearly four million topics. A click on the "More" button in the AnswerTip window delivers even more in-depth content about the topic from Answers.com.

"CBSNews.com is committed to providing our audience with the latest breaking news and the deepest background materials available anywhere," said Betsy Morgan, Senior Vice President, CBS Digital Media. "This partnership with Answers Corporation gives us another tool to reach that goal."

"CBS News has once again raised the bar on their excellent, authoritative coverage of the news, said Jeff Cutler, Chief Revenue Officer of Answers Corporation, "We are very pleased to 'Answers-enable' CBSNews.com, offering visitors at CBSNews.com the ability to learn even more by expanding on the news they read, literally as they read it."

In addition to the CBSNews.com partnership, Answers.com powers the reference search within leading portals and search engines such as Amazon.com's A9, Firefox, Opera, Info.com and HomeWorkNYC.org, the education site of the New York, Brooklyn and Queens Public Libraries.
